Enjoy the flavour of the west in our warm and inviting restaurant where we encourage you to take your time over every meal. Indulge in our five-course menu rich in pheasant, partridge and venison from the Moor, locally caught trout, salmon and lobster and organic produce from surrounding farms.

Our famed Carvery menu is available most evenings and of course for Sunday lunch. With tempting puddings and cheeses, which are hard to resist, and a selection of fine wines, vintage ports and liqueurs to finish off every meal, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Sardine Fillets served in Red Wine Vinegar
Crispy fried and served on a bed of baby leaves
with Homemade Tartare Sauce


Caramelized Red Onion and Goats Cheese
in a Puff Pastry Basket with roasted Cherry Tomatoes and Balsamic Vinegar Pearls

 

Exmoor Venison Paté
served with a Redcurrant and Juniper Jelly with Hot Toast and Butter

 

Whiskey and Dill Salmon Gravalax
cured in-house and served simply with a Horseradish soured Cream


Oak Roasted Duck Breast, crispy Parma Ham
and Honey Grilled Pear on a bed of Baby Leaves with Crispy Croutons and a Tarte Orange Vinaigrette

 

Smoked Trout and Crayfish Terrine
served on a bed of wilted Spinach and crisp Bruschetta

 

Chef’s Homemade Soup of the Day
topped with Crispy Croutons

Main Courses

 

Whole John Dory
caught on the South Devon Coast and delivered straight to us.
Baked simply in Lemon, Dill and Caper Butter and served with Fine Green Beans and Carrots

 

Roasted Rack of Lamb
with a Port, Redcurrant and Mint Sauce on a bed of Roasted Root Vegetables

 

Chicken Veronique
Supreme of Chicken pan fried until golden brown, finished with a sauce of caramelized Green Grapes, White Wine and Double Cream. Served on a bed of Braised Red Cabbage

 

Exmoor Venison Tenderloin
Pan fried with Wild Mushrooms and finished with a caramelized Onion and Port Jus and crispy flakes of Parma Ham and served on a bed of Roasted Root Vegetables.

 

Loin of Cod
on a Green Pea and Bacon Pureé finished with a Smoked salmon crisp and served with Carrots and Fine Green Beans

 

Pork Fillet
rolled in a Thyme, Garlic and Rosemary Crumb and served with a Bramley Apple and Cider Sauce on a bed of Braised Red Cabbage

 

Roast Butternut Squash
Stuffed with a Ratatouille of Tomato, Courgette, Bell Pepper and Aubergine topped with a Cheese Gratin

All food is cooked from fresh, as ordered. As a result, during busy periods there
may be a slight wait before your order arrives at your table. We do try to
keep this to a minimum. We have tried to cater for all tastes in our Menu,
however, if you are unable to find something to suit your taste please do
not hesitate to speak to a member of staff who will try their best
 to accommodate your needs.
