Dear Valued Customer,

It is with great sadness that we are writing to you to notify you that our loyalty scheme The EX-MORE Card will be coming to an end on February 1st 2017.

We have been running this scheme since 2008 and we truly value the loyalty of all our customers, both new and old, with many of our customers being known to us for a great number of years. However, the time has come to replace our EPOS system which means that our current Loyalty Software will no longer work. We do however hope to be able to send you regular notifications and Special Offer vouchers throughout the year and so hope that we will have the continued pleasure of welcoming you back to The Exmoor White Horse Inn in the future.

All Loyalty Points will need to be used by February 1st because as from that point onwards you will not be able to redeem them and we will no longer have a record of them.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

“The jewel of Exmoor”, Reviewed 6 days ago

I have just returned from a relaxing photographic break at this fabulous hotel. When I first pulled up outside, I was astounded at its size and being covered in autumn coloured vine leaves, was truly magnificent. The rooms are so well appointed, with a wonderful rich veneered wardrobe, bedside cabinets and table. A television that works beautifully (how many places can boast that?) and a luxurious bathroom with every accoutrement you could wish for. It was then I realised how every detail had been attended to by the caring owners and staff.

My biggest shock was upon entering the dining room for my first evening meal. The friendliness of the staff quite took me by surprise and when I later found out how long they had been there, this explained everything. Tables are laid in the finest manner possible, together with fresh flowers in a designer glass holder.

However, my biggest surprise was yet to come. The food! I have travelled the world during the course of my working life, but never encountered food that more than met the beautiful explanation of each dish. To say I was blown away by the quality of each course would be an understatement. I was so excited by the food that I leant over to the next table, introduced myself and said how good I thought it was. They replied, "You are preaching to the converted, we've been coming here for twenty years!"

I thought that was that, until I came down for breakfast and saw the array of everything I could possibly want. The waiter, a delightful Frenchman, showed me where everything lived. The scrambled eggs, so carefully laid on a paper bed in the bain marie, were the finest and softest I have ever eaten. On another morning, I had the most carefully poached eggs I have ever seen. A pure delight. Enormous credit must go to the owner and his wife for inculcating their quest for perfection upon the engaging serving staff. The chef and kitchen staff deserve very special praise too for producing food of such a quality I have only experienced in the Savoy in London where the dinner cost way more than a day's full board at this hotel. The photographic holiday was a great success too, run by the owner, a very talented photographer - with a superb individually tailored sandwich lunch each day, with fruit, enormous oatcake and water all thrown in. How he finds time to run the hotel with his highly organised wife and do this at the same time beats me. In short this is the finest short break I have ever experienced in my life.

Just try it. You will not be disappointed.

PS: How anyone can write some of the (very few) poor review of this hotel is quite incomprehensible to me, as everything was so exquisitely done and with such care.

Also this fine establishment deserves five stars, but I'm told that it can't have one as it doesn't offer a swimming pool. Well, I don't want one. I just want a lovely hotel, which this is - in spades.

Oh...... and I would add that I have no connection with this hotel whatsoever, I'm just an extremely satisfied guest.
